In game two of NWO vs LGD.sGty Puppey returns with confidence after his game 1 victory with yet another unconventional hero mix. LGD changes their picks from their usual pool (although very slightly) by throwing a bristleback into the mix as a counter for the armorless/nuking NWO squad. The outcome is impossible to predict based on the picks alone however, so watch and find out not only what these strategies are, but also how they clash.

NWO will go too, with fear replacing kky, and mym have lacoste and maelk not attending. The reason for maelk and kky is pressing school matters, but i am not sure about lacoste, havent seen him around in a long time now, and would be disappointed if he left :(

It seems that Lumi is on a casting spree! ftw! yeah keep it coming, I like commentaries, it keeps me updated even though I don’t play as much as before :)

But! I will devote myself on playing DotA 2!! hell yeah!

Great commentary from you guys once again. Also great job NWO and captain Puppey for another great lineup. That being said, where the f*** are the stuns for LGD.sGty? Only witch doctor has a reliable stun and the rest of the team is just magical damage. I am really disappointed in LGD.sGty…bring back 2009!

Loved the commentary. The “rapper” was Kanyewest, the verb is “to kanyerupt someone”. Ian’s comment on dying under hex was a bit off since LGD mostly turned into chicken I think, which I prefer to sheep anyway :D

    (READ THIS) EHOME VS NIRVANA.MY/EUROPE/WORLD

    ehome.71

Greetings to those who love me as well to those who hate me,

The team received lots of heat lately from the pathetic results in ESTC. Criticisms abound ranging from the mind games played on our behalf and the results proper. I wish to address this in the eve of our revenge mission.

For those haters out there, judge our results but not the way we achieve it. Mind games have been applied in every sport since ancient times and Ehome believes Dota deserves no less than this. The blog post about Boss 8 hearing rumours about “Nirvana claiming a 90% win rate in ESTC” during our dinner session that seems to upset him is all part of a larger plan. So is the claim that we lack of practice after the finals. To put it bluntly, all these unverifiable BS serves to strengthen our position as a competitor and does the opposite to every other opposing team.

For Mushi, this is what I have to say: We do not care if you are upset or not. The only thing we stand to regret was that those tactics failed to make you so hyped up that you guys lost in the finals. A word of advice, if you will be angry next time, make sure it works to our advantage else, cut the whining in the forums and just accept your victory as we always does. Perhaps your lack of success in the past comes as a culture shock when you finally did manage to win something meaningful.

As an apologetic gesture to our real fans, we made amends by claiming our first title just 2 weeks of that fluke result in Thailand. The 4 Divine Rapiers against LGD is just a taste of what is to come for our foreign guests; the most-hated Starsboba’s fate in ROTK should be a very good reflection of where the non-Chinese teams stand now. Our biggest rivals will still be the Chinese teams, WDC will prove the accident in Thailand remains as one.

The bet still stands: If a European team manages to win WDC, me and my team will disappear from the scene forever.

LGD was unlucky they had to pick the final two heroes first. Bristleback was completely countered by Lina and Tinker because a hard back does not help against magic damage. Necrolyte is a powerful hero but seemed out of place in this game. Actually, the same goes for Venomancer and Witch Doctor.I think that the main reason LGD is losing a lot is because they fail the ban and picking face every single time.

And again I fail to state that my post may contain SPOILERS. Definately do not read the final line :) . It is better to not read my post at all before watching. Just saying…

Oh and that is ‘picking phase’ not ‘picking face’. I also want to thank Ian and Lumi for an outstanding commentary.

Bristleback is decreasing any incoming damage, not caring if it is Magical, Physical, Universal or else, except of course Direct HP Removal [DHR] since this is technically not damage.

Oh okay in that case Lina and Tinker were just good picks in reaction to a bristleback pick because of their high nuke damage. Thanks for pointing that out Sabmud.

I agree with what you are saying. This match really shows how much SGTY misses 2009 or someone who could take up his position as team mastermind. Saying that, I thought SGTY played pretty pub-like, with some poor positioning and decision making and even the normally solid YYF playing poorly.

Part 3, 6:15, does kuroky juke out a teleport from YYF? He casts his BoT on the siege, bristleback is at ~50% hp, and YYF starts casting a TP to the tower, but kuroky cancels his TP and then YYF does as well.

That is exactly what I thought^^ I think you are right. I was pretty stoked when I noticed that actually, because it makes me feel like I finally understand some things about Dota myself :)

Part 3 5 mins into the video, when you guys were wondering why tinker didnt port onto the range creep to get the kill on bb: The range creep was sentinel not scourge. He couldn’t port onto it.

As for the commentary: You guys make a really good team, you should do more commentaries together. Really enjoyed it, and hope you guys do more dual commentaries.

It’ll be such a sad day for Dota when Puppey leaves. I appreciate fast fingers and flashy play from players like Kuroky, Loda, or Yamateh as much as the next guy, but you really have to hand it to the captains for theorycrafting, understanding the subtleties game, and directing their players. Puppey’s use of Howl in NWO/LGD 1 was a tiny but suitable demonstration of the extent to which he watches over every aspect of his team’s game. LGD needs 2009 to fight him, even if he fails LSAs in lane. :) Hi Wayne.

While this wasn’t exactly a one sided stomp, it still seemed like an easy win for NWO. LGD just couldn’t get the upper hand in any lane and they couldn’t get good ganks off, thanks to the Undying heal and Tinker always teleporting in to rocket them in the face.

Great commentary, I always like dual-commentaries.

This was a fun cast – on par with the HellYeah cast which still stands out as my favorite cast though it wasn’t my favorite game. You guys are a good team.

I said I am guessing that’s him, I never said I want it confirmed, in a sense, I stated the obvious.
It wouldn’t make much sense if it was just some random picture of a guy playing DotA, would it?

Just a random guess, but I believe it is a guy called Harold Berman probably born in ’79 or otherwise linked to that specific number…

But then again, this is just a random guess, so I might be wrong…
